J C Bird Opticians is located in the centre of Sheffield, South Yorkshire.
We think of ourselves as a friendly professional company with a keen eye for all that is new in optical technology and style. 

We are a privately owned family company and therefore have total freedom as to which frames and lenses we offer.

Whilst we pride ourselves on our eye for style, we are equally concerned for your health. Our fully qualified staff offer a complete eye testing service, including diabetic and glaucoma screening.  We accept work related plans such as Corporate Eyecare Plan and the Eyecare Vouchers.  Customers of the Westfield scheme are also welcome.


Our service is a complete spectacle dispensing service. After the eye test, we will advise you on the best frame and lens for your requirements. We take into consideration all practical issues but are also very aware of the need for a stylish and fashionable look. We are always adding to our wide range of Designer frames and the latest lens technology.

We can also advise you on contact lenses and magnifiers, we will fit new lenses to your favourite frames, we supply sunglasses, both prescription and non-prescription and, a wide variety of sport specific glasses, goggles and masks.  We will carry out any repairs or adjustments necessary to your existing glasses.
