Contact Lenses

Many people are choosing contact lenses for vision correction, as they offer several advantages over spectacles. For example if you take part in sports you may find glasses affect your performance and contact lenses can provide an excellent alternative.

  • Contact lenses do not steam up;

  • Contact lenses are virtually invisible, so no one will know you are wearing them;

  • A great range is available which can be worn for shorter or longer periods from daily contact lenses to yearly gas permeable lenses.

There are a number of options and our specialist contact lense consultant Simon Mann is on hand to advise you on all aspects of contact lenses.

Our Contact Lenses

Lenses can be bought as and when needed or you can join our direct debit scheme, which includes free annual check ups and can include your solutions if you require.  Being on the direct debit scheme means your lenses and solutions will be ordered regularly with no need for you to phone us, furthermore they can be delivered to your door in letter box friendly packaging.  There is also a 10% discount on glasses.

We provide a range of lenses to suit most prescriptions:

Monthly  - Wear the same lens each day for up to 1 month.  Once open the shelf life is 30 days and not 30 “wears”.  Solutions and a lens case are needed as once removed they need to be cleaned before being worn the next day.  Solutions remove the germs that can grow on the contact lens and disinfect the contact lens case.

Daily – Wear once and discard, no solutions or case needed.  More flexible, no maintenance, suited to occasional sport or occasion (eg) wedding wearers.  Good for people with allergies, irritated by solutions.

Toric – Daily or monthly (for astigmatism). Astigmatism is an unequal curvature on the surface of the eye that results in blurred vision.

All day & night – You can sleep in them. Good for mothers with babies, people who work long hours or people prone to infections – less chance of infecting the eye as they are removed less often.

Varifocal – monthly (for presbyopia).  Presbyopia is the age related inability to focus sharply on nearby objects.
